Two weeks later and no update.  ::)

Here are the five I like best. There's another dozen that just needs more stuff on them. (Not happy with the pictures, though. I might take better one later.)

(I gave up on the one above. The different stone textures didn't work out the way I wanted.)

I tried being fancy here, writing the characters on it. Thank the spirits I'm not emulating real Japanese things.

Lastly we have the over-the-top kitschy bling-bling gorintĀō.
A while now I've wanted to use an synthetic zirconium "diamond". As a friend puts it, there's something inherently cool with refractive indices that high.
And as the topmost bit on a gorintō is called 'jewel' this seemed like the time.

It was blasted hard to get any decent photos of it, so here's an indecent one. It looks a lot nicer in reality - quite eyecatching.

Next up will probably be a shrine.

:o Man, these look so good, I doubt you could take bad pictures of them...   ;D

What are you using for the larger flowers / greenery?  They really complete the look I think.

Thankee!

Silversixx, of course you will! Perhaps not at Gubbspel Galore, but then after.

Zizi, I really should try to get a good picture of that diamond.

And make a special scenario around it! Let's see; you carefully lift the diamond off the gorintō, a creaking is followed by a rumbling, and a big stone comes..... oh, never mind.  ::)

Obsidian, the tufts and leafy greenery is from Tajima, the flowery stuff is MiniNatur. The ferns are my own, kinda.

(I have no idea where the flocking and static grass comes from. I've had it for a long time. That static grass must be older than some posters here! :o)

Wohoo, I won the Gorintō-off! ;)

So, here come the last of my WIPs and pictures of all my gorintōs.

The last masters. Most of the stuff is easy to see what it is. The pieces under the dice is plaster cast in moulds made by bigger dice. The middle pieces, the pyramids, are casts from a d10 and a d8.

Casts of the above, after I've gone over them with a knife. The leftmost is the diamond gorintō, and the rightmost isn't finished yet.

The third from the left is the one with my attempts at characters. I simply draw them with a pencil and then used an ordinary pin to trace over and over. One of the nice things about working in plaster.

And here they all are. The diamond sutra gorintō stands out a little more like it does in reality, but not quite. Shifting light really does it.

And here's a better pic of it.

And now it's high time to get on with the terrain. I've barely got three weeks to finish in time for Gubbspel Galore!

Brilliant, really! I hope to be able to come over and see them at Gubbspel this year! And maybe have a game between these :)

Thanks, guys!

Zafarelli, you have seen them - they aren't new. Can't remember if they were at the table we played at, though.
