Modeling Eye Glasses?? Anyone know how to do this??

Hey All!

I have a 20mm turret gunner that I want to put a pair of glasses on for my Toadie character from Mad Max.  The mini has no glasses and I thought to put a round blob of putty and then flatten it out, but I haven't been successful.  Anyone have any good tips on making eye glasses?

I have, a few times, used very fine copper wire which I have bent around brass wire to the right goggles shape and then glued'm in place with super glue.

OKB  Gigirov (sp?) did a PE glasses ones dont know if they still do many of the older sets are now OOP.

You could try cutting small discs from the blister windows. I've only done this one time with Hasslefree's Eve to give her the sunglasses that'll make her into a Lara Croft. Took me some repeated cutting, before I got it right though.

Another idea might be to flatten the putty blobs with an empty 0.7mm drop action pencil.

How about slicing pieces of a styrene rod (with the appropriate diameter) ? You migth even be able to work with a modelling sprue (if you can still find round sprues) - with a bit of heating these can be stretched out to the required diameter.
