How to paint glasses?
« on: July 13, 2016, 03:18:02 PM »
Hi,

I am looking for some advice.  I have several figures that are sporting spectacles/eye glasses and I have no idea ho to paint them?

Watery opaque white won't do, or light blue, or gray... HELP!  Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Frank

I know you've found an answer, but I don't know that my version is among them.Anyway, here it is in case it helps you or anyone else:

The image doesn't perfectly reflect what I paint, in order to better show you the steps (in reality they're closer together/more overlapping)

Bear in mind that I normally paint full eyes, so this is intended as a step back from that. Best example is a figure I have with a monocle:

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

If they are reflective lenses, then paint them like a window or windshield.  If they are clear glasses, the above. :D
