« on: 14 July 2012, 06:32:20 PM »
Just stumbled across this while looking for some Hail Caesar stuff...

British Regulars, Woodland Indians and French regulars box sets up for pre-order on the Warlord site.

Great box art!!!

More to come soon apparently.

Agree, great box art. I got excited for a moment thinking that there were new figure poses as pictured on the box but no. Still nice figures. Not sure that they need to describe the french as "villainous" when the Redcoats are "brave".

Whoever writes Warlord's marketing guff is clearly a reader of the Super Soaraway Sun. They got a lot of stick a while back for their crass descriptions of their 'sexy' Waffen SS troops.
Now they're at it with 'brave' redcoats and 'villainous' Frenchies.
Gosh, makes you proud, doesn't it..?  ::)

We all have a bit of a thing for national sterotypes, of course, and I know they only mean it in fun. But it really is a brainless, lowest common denominator approach to marketing... I wish they'd grow up and treat their audience as adults, rather than this puerile 'War Picture Library' shtick...

Oh how I agree with you Richard,it really does gets very silly; 'get your Old Guard, now with twirling moustaches'. It becomes a fantasy.

So will Conquest actually be carrying the same boxed sets, or will I have to order from Britain and have them shipped to the USA?  ::)
