An increasing presence in current conflict zones are Military contractors. Kosta Heristanidis has sculpted eight figures in 28mm to allow gamers to deploy these often controversial units on the table top... Armed with a variety of small arms, they can be used in any current theatre of operations be it active war zone, personal protection or even disaster relief.

These figures will be available for the first time at HISTORICON 2012 and will be officially on our web site, shorty afterwards.

I'm sure I can find a use for these. I'd also love to see some without all the pouches etc to be used as corporate security guards.
So many projects..... so little time.......

I have them on my painting table and as ever they really are works of art.
Call me a fan boi if you will but for me Kosta's work is the benchmark for 28mm moderns. The detail is always crisp, yet never overdone, the figures are beautfully proportioned and most important the posing is always natural, not stiff like some 28mm Action Man.

The repeat appearance of the beardy boy is just testimony to the fact that Kosta researches his figures from contemporary sources and let's face it who would pass up the opportunity for a figure like that?

Carlos, can you please tell me  how contractors are scaled  with TAG and Empress moderns lines of miniatures?
Long time ago i got  eureka`s portugese and germans and they were too small to fit with any other 28mm miniatures i had, so now i am a bit cautious about buying eureka`s models.

They are pretty much the same size as Empress, maybe a micron or so shorter but similar proportions. About the same height as TAG, I've got a TAG Vietnam figure and a Eureka Contractor in front of me at the moment. Not sure which Portuguese you have but the ones I have are a very good match for height to both TAG ( actually they are a bit taller than the TAG examples I have).

The big difference is that TAG are much less well proportioned, they're chunkier and to be honest the sculpting is crude by comparison. I don't mind some of the TAG figures, the newer ones are better but they suffer by comparsion to Eureka or Empress in terms of overall sculpting and casting. TAG weapons tend to be fairly piss poor.

For what it's worth Eureka are a very good match height wise for Mongrel and MoFo although  the MoFo stuff is heftier on the whole. The Mongrel Brits I have are a little slighter so in heft terms they are a slightly better match.

I have no problems mixing any or all of the above.
