Hopefully those will last me until Malamute releases that tax collector and those skirmisching presidiales he promised. ;)

 lol

I will advise my Sculptor accordingly. ;)

Sadly we fell behind schedule with releases last year due to illnesses, accidents etc. :(

But we will be back on track soon, so fear not you will have your figures in due course :D

Excellent, my cunning plan worked!  :D

I read some of the woes that have befallen Matthew on your site. Hopefully this will be the last of it and he can get back in the saddle.

I'm contemplating the possibility of getting another pack of the current presidials in order to decapitate them and swap their heads around for a little more variation.

It's been a long time without updates, but I finally completed the last of the Foundry peons to populate the pueblo. Not the most exciting figures in the project, but when it comes down to it, a Zorro game will always need loads of these as the rest of the action boils down to Zorro on one side and a handful of villains on the other (more if they are especially incompetent).

Looks like I was a little rusty. Luckily, I documented all the colours used (and mixed) to represent the different textures, so I had something to fall back on. The dark grey seems to have gone a little glossy over time, might have to consider getting a matt varnish for the lot of them.

A little group of just the peons (not including the slightly higher class civilians).

And a groupshot of everything, it became clear my display background isn't big enough anymore...

I can't quit before you've made that tax collector and the skirmishing presidials.  ;)

Your "rusty" still leaves my "best" in the dust.  Nice work.

Gracias,

Thanks for the comments all.  8)

I have my eye on those lovely Spanish buildings from Brigade Games and the mediterranean walls and gates from Kobblestone Miniatures as a start to the village.

I thought you might say that.. ;)

I expect an update on them on any minute now. ;)

I know, I know, I haven't added anything to this project in a long time, but the minis are all still packed away since I moved home and destined to remain so until after an extensive number of house renovations.

I did however get the chance to work, on and off, on the first building for the project and while it's still not done, at least there's progress. It's going to be the building that houses the Commandante's office and prison cells.

The basic build, before adding spackling can be seen here:

With some rough spackling added and the first windows, we've come to about this stage. You can see some of the tile sheet in the back that will be used to make the roof. Still missing at this point are the doors (like the windows, a master was made, then moulded with instamould for casting in a cheap putty), and the details and support beams for the balcony. It's also in need of sanding on the walls and some carving of the messy spackling with a knife around the window edges and stairs:

Well worth the wait if you are going to return with this beauty!

This is very promising and I really look forward to see how you tackle the painting of it.

Odd I've just returned to this theatre too.

Looks very promising. What will you do for the roofs? They were always my biggest concern.

I found somr 1/48 scale plastic tile sheets, you can see them in the back of some of the pictures.
