Adam has finished the Emperor set and I now have it in our store. The two Emperors, a Primus Pilus and a standard bearer in lioness skin. The set comes with an image, a victory and an eagle.

28mm in white metal, the set with standards and shields selling at £8.00.

Cheers

Somewhen someone had to immortalise that McBride illustration with miniatures. Well done!
Apart from that, the standard bearer took great fancy to me. :-*

Adam has now finished another set that includes a General/Emporer modelled upon Trajan. This figure is modelledd with breeches. We see it as being used as any 1st Cent. AD Emperor. The other figures are a Lictor in cloak, a Centurion presenting a severed head and another Centurion/ Praetorian.

You get quite fast with those adaptations from Osprey books. ;)
Would love to add those Theilenhofen-helmeted officers to my collection, but I can't find an excuse for the lot of accompanying emperors. lol

Very much like those, especially Trajan.  THe chap presenting the head is presumably based on your Albanach mini?

I would think the scene was rather inspired by Giuseppe Rava's illustration in Osprey's "Roman Centurion" part 2. Like the artwork or not (the latter for me), the model adaptation is very well done!

Ah Mad Doc, I meant on the dolly of their Albanach mini (of which, alas, I've only seen a poor photo of a painted version).  I seem to recall that version was helmeted, but could be wrong.

Giuseppe's illustration is presumably based on Trajan's column.

It'll make a cracking vignette!

Lovely command stand. Those figures pack a lot of character I think,

Nice! Went directly up on the shoppinglist  ;)

One question on those poor lictores: did they only carry that stupid bundle of axe and fasces? No other weapon to protect their master with?
