My Hochseeflotte
« on: February 23, 2008, 03:07:15 AM »
Hi folks,
Well inspired by Peder's lovely sailor a day project I decided to show so far my German Hochseeflotte collection using Brigade Games "Ends of the Earth" range of figures and scratch built vessels and the Brigade Games U-Boat. The project is not finished yet. I'm looking at German sailor hats for converting on the existing figures.

For my landing craft this needs a vehicle which I'm still looking at. Needs to be able to operate in all climatic conditions. I'll use a mountain gun for the landing party to give them some extra firepower against the creatures.

You will notice my M 57 of the Minensuchboot 1916 class that has been slightly scaled back in detail from the original plans-Further work is ongoing.

This is so I can do my Pulp adventure based on "The Land That Time Forgot" plus other adventures.

Oh one must not forget Gus my cat 8)

There will also be a German float plane and/or helicopter.

I particularly like the big ship. Simple but effective, perfect for wargaming.

It's a shame there aren't more women in our hobby, if they were all as knowledgeable, enthusiastic and prolific as you Helen we'd be mainstream. Hell, we'd even be on the telly!

To quote the movie

"I think youre gonna need a bigger (u-)boat" ...

To take out that giant relict cat monster thing in the background.
And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be the light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winter born

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming U-Boat from Company B/Brigade Games. At least it will have an 8.8 cm gun and a single barrel 2cm flak. Perfect against those large predators out there 8)

Thanks again for your lovely comments.

God Bless

Hey, Helen.  Terrific work!  I love the landing craft.

You said you were looking for a vehicle for the landing craft.  Have you considered a Kettenkrad?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SdKfz_2

I think they're super "pulp-y" and would be perfect for a landing craft.

Thanks Juju,

I might look at that of an SDKFZ 10 or SDKFZ 10/4. At least the latter has a flak gun which I can used against winged predators or other beasties.
