Cheap Foamboard/Foamcore (UK)

I visited the new local branch of Hobbycraft today, as a '25% off all purchases' voucher had been popped through the door.

They currently have 10x A1 foamcore sheets for £25 which seems a good price if you have the space (and need!) for such an amount.  They dont actually advertise this in-store, but it is currently on the website.  I asked before purchasing just to be sure.  No idea how long the offer will last.

Combined (I checked again beforehand!) with the voucher I got mine for £18.75.  Not sure I've seen it cheaper from a retail outlet.

Oops missed that off. 
Its 5mm and when i asked they went and got a pack of 10 from the storeroom, as only a few single sheets were on display.

If you've missed the sale why not try this place for some foamcore. I've ordered in the past and 20 A4 sheets for £15 ain't bad.

Now does anyone have a good source for cheap balsa wood?

Oh and anywhere that still sells knaaff (sp) spaceboards would also be useful!

I've gotten my balsa from eBay before today although it was many years ago and I got shed loads. Can't remember the seller I'm afraid and I think the thicknesses were limited.

I'd recommend looking in art shops. I buy my foamboard from an independent place which sells it at a negligible price (half the price of the [now defunct] local model shop).

The offer is now on until 7th October.  It seems to only appear on the 'Offers' page (approx half way down on right)

The link from that page confusingly says £3.99 a sheet, but if when I asked in store they were well aware of the offer (Despite not indicating it in-store)

It seems to only apply to white A1 5mm thick sheets.

Honestly please  have a try and  call in your local Iceland UK store (or any large food group) all there ad boards are foamcard and some are huge, ask them to save you when they are replaced and you will collect, most store throw them but there ideal and great for anything....

Nice one, Andy. They ship to the rest of europe too...but the delivery for the 20 A4 sheets in Italy is 22 £! More than the item itself
