Thanks for the kind comments chaps, more to come on Tuesday  :)

Very nicely painted and all. But it seems a bit too fantastic to my tastes.  I mean, really, flying ships?

As opposed to ten foot tall walking bombs  lol You crazy Viking  lol

The Martians look very cool with their armor, but I think you made need a few more in the future...

Already on it  :)

cheers

James

Stirring stuff chaps.  :)  Good to see the line holding steady in defence of British tea!

I love the pearly look of the Martian armour - how was that achieved, please?  ???

Well spotted Rob. :D

JimBibbly came up with a recipe for pearlescent armour which is what we wanted for the Martians, I am glad it has worked. He is a genius but don't tell him I said that, or it will go to his head.
I am sure he will share the recipe when he sees this. :)

Since you are being a smartarse then no  ;D

Oh go on then...

White base coat and then a mix of silver, gloss varnish and a little bit of teal, watered down a bit and given two coats. The teal could be swapped out for something else to change the hue/colour/tone etc.  :)

cheers

Very ingenious, I just thougt you had used the pearlescents available from W&N etc.  They do a colourless one too which can be added to the paint of your choice.

New Victoria, Mars. 28th August 1889. The offices of the Illustrated London News Overseas Reporting Team.

Dear reader,

Following the unprovoked attack on the mining camp at Barak-Taa-Naa last week there have been no confirmed sightings along any of the canals or established trade routes of the skyborne Martians. In fact for all intensive purposes they seem to have disappeared into the Aether...

...We can report however that telegraph lines connecting New Victoria to the Belborough Railway company headquarters at Quaa-Rak-Taa have ceased working. All contact with the railway and its staff numbering nearly 100 persons has been lost...

...A combined expeditionary force of both British and Japanese troops is at this moment heading for Quaa-Rak-Ta to maintain the safety of the Belborough Railway Company property and its employees.
