Hostess Fruit Pie Comic Ads

Yesterday while at Wal-Mart waiting in line there was a large display selling Hostess Fruit Pies (wow a $1 now!) and on an impulse I bought one as it reminded me of my childhood and reading comics with the HFP comic ads in them....now this was very creative advertising!

Wow, the amazing storytelling in those is truly riveting! Just imagine how proud the people who worked on those must be.

I was thinking the reverse.
Those one page ads are more engaging and with better story telling than any of the comics have had in the last decade.

Probably makes the current writers feel kinda bad they can't even reach HFP levels of ability.

If you live in the US, Wal-Mart has them....at least in the south, they suduced me while I was waiting in line. I saw the display and my mouth watered for a lemon one (so I got one for lunch the next day). About a $1 but very filling, I recall when they was a quarter....yea I AM THAT OLD...well not that old but you get the point. 

I would be snared in a trap if I was a super villian...

I never cared for the fruit pie that much, very little fruit in them.

  Yep, me too.  I think they still sell them around here (Minnesota).  The pies, I mean.  Not comics with corny advertising for pies.   

I also notice that Hostess pies form the crossover tie between the DC and Marvel universes.

I just had a laugh a moment ago, we should take our painted super hero figures and use that comic editor program out there and make our own Hostess Fruit Pie commercials...maybe with Crossover figures or anything goes? Of course you must have product placement in it.....hrm, maybe a contest?
