Just to show that real events can be far stranger than those from fiction:

They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Very interesting, thanks for sharing, lots of potential scenario stuff here :)

This sort of stuff is exactly why I read the Fortean Times. If you carefully read past the crazies and downright deluded, there are some excellent Pulp scenarios in there sometimes.

A few months ago they had a great article on prehistoric Siberian radioactive alien death houses. Mad as badgers, but so damn inspiring.

last month's feature article was another Russian themed one. A pair of Italian students in the 1950s had rigged up a listening post in their attic and tuned into secret Soviet space missions, allegedly before they went public with Gagarin's flight. Apparently in at least one case, the signals from the capsule got weaker and weaker as the poor cosmonaut just floated gently off into space.  :o

Tons of potential for Pulp spy games there. The two kids were apparently marked for death by the KGB at one point too. And then they built a better reciever in a disused Nazi bunker outside Turin.

I mean, what's not to love about this stuff?
