Prussian Hussars/Officers French Légère/Voltigeurs
« on: September 01, 2012, 12:27:00 PM »
Ploughshares to swords is now officaly active and back again!

link

To start off I have finished painting a line voltigeur stand and my first stand off Légère. I will now move on to do my second brigade general and also start doing the division general.

Anders the younger has been very busy and finished the first squadron of converted prussian hussars and two officers.

I have also been very busy with making large amounts of terrain for our gaming table but that is a future post.

Regard Anders the elder

As I am no expert on Prussian Hussars, what changes did you have to make to the Perry's plastic French Hussars to get them to look historically correct? Obviously the head changes but what else...please do tell???

Hi,

After changing the headgear you change the back of the horse blanket from round to square-ish and thats it.

Thanks for the pic Anders....looks like a fairly straightforward job!

One other question, as I am doing my Prussians to fight with Bony in the Russian 1812 adventure (soon to be disaster), would your conversion be the correct uniform for that period. As I said, I am no Prussian expert and my reference books give conflicting info on the Prussians during this period. Hence, any help would be greatly appreciated! ;)

Yes its quite and easy conversion :)

Now it was some time since I looked up all the uniform plates but I think that it should be correct for the 1812 period.
