Having lurked for long enough, a few days ago I thought I should sign up and even - shock! - made a couple of posts before realising that I hadn't introduced myself. Well, my granny wouldn't have liked such a lack of manners, so here I am trying to make amends by formally saying 'hello'.
Hello.
Stuck under my desk is a small pile of unpainted pirates and Old West types, but my current enthusiam is for all things arctic.
Stage one is almost complete - I have a small group of Copplestone Inuit and polar explorers. They might get along or they might not, but either way, the other Copplestone arctic denizens might get them - polar bears, walrus and a couple of yetis masquerading as Wendigo. Somewhere in the mix is a pack of wolves for local colour, and some musk-ox for local eating.
I'm about to start stage two: the Bear's Den Inuit, plus camp scenery. Cairns for cached supplies, sledges, kayaks (with drying racks), and other associated gaming paraphernalia. Igloos and tents naturally.
Stage three is later - other adversaries will be Vikings and Foundry Mountain men (but not at the same time). Maybe one of those lovely Eureka whaleboats. Maybe some more of the HLBS Great White North range. And definitely more wildlife - a herd of caribou perhaps, and some more bears and seals. Sometihng woolly and prehistoric perhaps. I'm loving these Inuit because although they seem limited at first, they can actually be fitted into all sorts of genres.
Stage four - ah, you think I could actually get to stage four without getting distracted by another project...?
Anyway, nice to be on board!
