Working on a fantasy pirate gang - Finished !
« on: 04 September 2012, 02:42:11 PM »
Painting a Goblin Pirate gang to play with Alkemy. As a start, the Black Troll from Rackham. This is a lovely miniature to paint, full of funny details, like a cyclopic eye, rhum bottles, a fish tail, mushrooms, etc.  ;D I gave him a copper armor to avoid a too greyish overall appearance, especially on the rear.
Hope you like it.

VERY WELL DONE! I really like your skin tones & color choices in general. You did a FINE job bringing that GREAT mini to life.
I can't wait to see the rest of the Crew...well, I actually can wait, but it will be difficult.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Very nice paintwork on a very characterful mini.
Have you seen Karsten's (Vikotnik's) goblin pirates. I can't seem to find the thread right now, but he's used the Rackham pirates and they're beautifully done - they might be an inspiration.

The armor looks great! And all the lovely littel details, and the anchor as a weapon, very fitting. I'm not sure about the angle of the arm however, it looks a bit unnatural for a humanoid creature  ???

I've seen his thread and his models are a great inspiration. I have the Rackham gobo pirates too and I'll probably go the same way  ;) Love the ship he has done.

Are you talking about his right arm? He has a dismembered arm in his right hand. In this case, the angle of the photo can be a little confusing here.

very nice paintjob on that troll mate!  :-* Nice colors choice, especially the armour.
Love that model. It's really perfect for a fantasy pirate gang. What are you planning next?  :P

Haha you are right, I hadn't even noticed the severed arm in his hand, it makes more sense now... however,  his REAL arms are still in a pose that looks pretty taxing on his shoulder muscles ;)

As most of you all proposed, I'll go for the complete Rackham goblin pirates range. Maybe I'll add some humas pirates to it from the Ron 'n Bones range, think they fit well.
Here's the rest of the gang with the pirate heroes.

Very colorful, fitting for a rag-tag bunch of misfits ;)

I love that gobling pirate who kind of stands on his toes pointing his stick at some birds, I think there's a miniature of him too, I hope you have that one ;)
