Hamunaptra Expedition
« on: 16 September 2012, 02:58:26 PM »
I've been lurking around this forum for some time gaining inspiration on how my Pulp miniatures and scenery are going to look. Looking at some of the geniuses posting here has been inspirational but also a bit off-putting as I know I'm never going to be that good. However, the time has come to post some pictures of my humble efforts. This is Professor Ricky T. Bridge F.R.S. and Doctor Cholmondley-Warner C.D.M. at the start of their expedition to Hamunaptra in 1924. They are accompanied by their loyal bearer, Euan Huzarmi.

Not so humble, looks great to me. The finish on the van is super.  Good use of the backdrop too.

Excellent! Great pic, I've aways wanted to do something like this.

Many thanks for your kind comments, everybody. It's encouraged me to get on with a bit more painting! I've got a Rolls Royce armoured car which has been 'nearly-finished' for quite some time now. I can't be bothered to paint the wheels, but I'm going to finish it this week and post it here with some more of my figures for the Hamunaptra Expedition.

Here's Anck-su-namun with some of the 'ungodly' assembling to throw a spanner into the works of the expedition. Not a very good photograph but I haven't got time to do it again, need a better camera really!

I believe it was the Egyptians, Daeothar! :D Probably around 2560BC, so maybe out of production now? I didn't realise until I read about it that they were the tallest man-made structure in the world when they were built and held the record for nearly 4,000 years until the construction of Lincoln Cathedral in about 1300AD.

Sorry, didn't mean to bore everybody  o_o more pictures soon!

Wonderful!

Just had a wee glimpse of 'The Mummy' the other day (big mistake though) and all this pulp business is getting my interest again,.

Looking good.
But we are now expecting to see a written reports as the intrepid professor and his cohorts embark on their expedition?
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.
