rifleman never came out as I hoped as I find painting black really difficult.

All your models look great. There are a few easy ways to paint black nicely. What I always do is, I paint black, highlight it with Dark Grey from vallejo and use a black wash (Nuln Oil from GW) to darken the highlights until I'm happy with them. What you can also do is paint the model in a very dark grey and use black washes to make the recesses darker and shade the model that way. People probably won't see the difference between very dark grey and pure black (the same way with painting white).

Thanks necrocannibal, I shall certainly use your methods as I really like the look of well painted black on minis but am always wary of painting black.

A fine example of black working on a mini can be seen on smokezombies nun.
It is even better looking in (real life?) than in the photo and that looks brilliant as it is!!

Once again though, thanks for the suggestions.  :)

Another excellent paintjob.
Really love your painting style.

To be fair to The Lockswin, the black looks much better to the naked eye.

He can blame my inability to take a decent picture if he wants to.

Thanks for the compliment Lockswin. Your team is awesomely painted tho. I'd happily swap  :D

I really like the rifleman, the green band on his hat is a nice touch to tie him in to the rest, just like the flatcap fellas neck scarf. Nice touch.

He's a Pinkerton man is he not?
"The sword sung on the barren heath,
The sickle in the fruitful field;
The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."

It has been a while but The Lockswin has gotten around to adding another team member to the Northern Irish Division.

Meet 'Tiny'

Here he is with the rest of the 'Boys'

A nice addition, I reckon.

He looks like he should be mentioning the imminent possibility of "sleeping with the fishes". Be that as it may, he is a WONDERFULLY WELL DONE mini & a FINE addition to the Irish Do-Gooders. GREAT WORK!

Thanks all for your comments. Hoping to get another member of the Irish mob painted up in ALOT shorter time than this one took.

Need to pull my finger out methinks!!   :D
