Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial

Wow!  Actually much more interested in this personally than RJW. What are your plans moving forward for the range?

Ach Himmelherrgottsakra!

Just sold off my existing Freikorps, and here you go with such wonderful figures that make me re-start it all over again. Good thing I did not sell my truck and Hedi.

They are cool! It surprise me to see figthing troops in Bayerischen Tracht  :o
Are you going to release spartacists aswell?

Wow!  Actually much more interested in this personally than RJW. What are your plans moving forward for the range?

Basically the plan is to round out the Werdenfelser first without neglecting the Russo-Japanese War. Already set is an 'assault' set (two guys with SMGs and a flamethrower team, a completely fictional set as the Werdenfelser weren't equipped with these weapons) and about four sets (depending on the actual make-up) of Bavarian civilians (some of which could also be used as unarmed Freikorps members resp. will come with separate weapons/equipment to put on their bases, etc. to creat a in-camp-scene).

I'd love to get some opponents for them done, once the aforementioned is realized. (Maybe also some other distinctive federal troops, that cannot represented by the available WW1 miniatures.)
But I'm not completely sure (at least not yet), if resp. in what way that would be a feasible project as there are already a couple of miniatures/ranges available, which could be pressed into service or are actually dedicated to this conflict(s).  :?

Any input and thoughts on this would be very welcome!

One thing that is really missing is German police for the 1920-1930s. It would also be nice to have some of the personalities like the young Mr H and his followers

I certainly take your point re the lack of submachine guns for the Werdenfels, but I have to wonder whether they would have had any machine guns either!  I liked how the command set has the one NCO in his old feldgrau.

Hi Franz_Josef,

There are quite some photos of the Werdenfelser with the MG08, some staged 'action'-shots, some group pics in their quarters and also some showing Freikorps members maintaining/cleaning the guns.

I've found the book "Revolutionszeit 1918/19 im Bezirk Garmisch" by Josef Ostler the best source on details of the Freikorps Werdenfels. (Unfortunately it's OOP and don't think that it has ever been translated to English or any other language.)

Ostler quotes a first hand account stating that the Werdenfelser were equipted with a total of ten MGs besides their rifles. Unfortunately it is not specified, if there are also some MG08/15 among those MGs.
But the book also contains the account of a Freikorps member describing the Werdenfelser in action and how a hard-pressed rifle section get reliefed by a very mobile operating MG, so the MG08/15 is an educated guess.

Lovely figures and, yes, the German police have been requested by a number of LAFfers in the past, they would be good, too.  :D
