Add one more vote for German armed police. Oh and an Anita Berber character figure.

These are bloody fantatastic! Paul has done a great job on these. It's a pity that he's so used by the community, because I really need him for a couple of miniatures ;)
I think the range is spot on, and while I'm not an interwarist, I do think that these are the best freikorps around. And It's nice to see the whole interwar segment getting filled with civilians and civlians with weapons rather than another wave of soldiers :)
So good job!

Actually Otto Dix is a great source of character inspiration for this period.  One of my favourite painters.  And yes, one more vote for German police!

question, these guys really couldn't be used for reds of the same area right? Just had a thought of one group with white bands and garlands and another in red  lol

As are Grosz and Christian Schad, along with Felixmüller etc etc. Quite possibly my favourite era and genres of 'modern' art.

Quite happily ordered mine yesterday!   :-*

My hopes for expansion in order.
1. Police
2. Civilains

I am sure that any fan of the interwar revolutions and border disputes would want a complete range from Spartacists, to Volksmarine, to Baltic enemies, and all Freikorps inbetween. Let me just say that "if you build it, my Paypal will come"!  lol

Second the Police, Civilians, and especially the "personality" packs provided Paul is still doing the sculpting as he is so good at likeness. Obviously the utility of the range will be somewhat limited if you don't do opponents for these guys, but I understand financial constraints.

Which figure ranges would scale best with yours for doing the Freikorps units in "Stormtrooper" gear--as I am presuming these wouldn't be on your list. Maybe Brigade Games?

Paul also did the Musketeer VBCW and ICW ranges which are usable. As is the Empress SCW range. There are anomalies. For instance, the Musketeer stuff strongly features Lee Enfields and Lewis guns and these would not be common in 1919 Germany. Nor would 1930's Italian and Soviet firearms.

Very nice miniatures.

Like any new period it is always lovely to see two factions for gaming.

I like the clothing attire and as mentioned civilians will greatly enhance the setting.

I noticed this thread.

Well done everyone involved.

I am interested in the history of these fellows. Why were they not in uniform?

They were an irregular force, a 'citizen militia', if you like, raised to support ex-army 'regular' Freikorps units to suppress the socialist/communist/marxist/variousotherformsofleftwinggroupist popular uprising in Munich which had seized control over the town. I think they were recruited from Schützenvereine as well as older men who may have served their military term but did not see active service in the Great War. Their uniform pretty much consisted of the white/blue arm band.
