Which figure ranges would scale best with yours for doing the Freikorps units in "Stormtrooper" gear--as I am presuming these wouldn't be on your list. Maybe Brigade Games?
"That's a bingo!"
Paul Hicks did some sculpting for Brigade Games' WWI range.

Cool, which fig's did he do? I notice a nice mix of models and ranges on the web site.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure.
I know he did the Austrians and Italians, but I don't know which he did for the Western Front.

There might actually be some figures of use in the Alpine Theatre range.

There is a lot to choose from:
Brigade Germans by Mike Owen (Artizan)
Great War by Aly Morrison
Renegade
Old Glory (have some nice German Cavalry)
Copplestone made a pack of stormtrooper characters

I dont think though that Hicks made any Germans. Only Austrians, Italians, British and Russians

It's about time somebody produced some decent miniatures for this important period and these are unreservedly lovely! Germany really was a political crucible after the end of the Great War and I find the era endlessly fascinating in a 'what if...' sense. I've also just been viewing this Interwar thread and it would be nice to see more Second Polish Rep. types as Freikorps opponents. Anyway they certainly have the right look and I am anxious to see more of this range.

I think that's correct. He did do a germans-in-field-cap headset though.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions! All noted but I'm not promissing nothing.  ;D

Thanks Westfalia Chris and commissarmoody for stepping in! I've just posted a third part on the historical background (this one dealing with the atrocities commited by both sides):
http://tsuba-miniatures.blogspot.de/2012/10/freikorps-werdenfels-historical_23.html

Part one deals with the overall situation in Munich/Bavaria and the establishment of the Freikorps Werdenfeld and their trip to Munich:
http://tsuba-miniatures.blogspot.de/2012/10/freikorps-werdenfels-historical.html

The second part consists of a brief report about the Werdenfelser in Munich:
http://tsuba-miniatures.blogspot.de/2012/10/freikorps-werdenfels-historical_2133.html

As written on the blog, if anybody got differing or additional information OR if you'd like more indepth information on certain aspects, please let me know. I hope to add a couple of posts dealing with history in coming weeks (maybe one with the complete report by Hauptmann Wagner and another with dealing with the propaganda role the Freikorps Werdenfels played).

I'm going to order some sets by Scheltrum and GreatWar Miniatures for comparison photos.  ;)

Andrew Taylor has painted another casting of the standard bearer, this time using the specific Freikorps Werdenfels banner from Flags of War's banner sheet:

Nice articles.
It's very hard to find decent info in english or other language on Bavaria/Munich during the raten/freikorps period.
