Latin American Monster Hunters
« on: 15 October 2012, 08:31:07 PM »
I've been thinking about gothic horror in Latin America and I decided to paint up a group of monster hunters and monsters that reflect this theme. This is the first hunter. The figure is from Privateer Press Hordes line. I liked the character of the piece ,he reminds me of the late, great Charles Bronson.
I wanted to work with a lighter coloured palette than I use for my other hunters, mainly dark greys and browns. The huge blunderbuss reminded me of a Fowling Gun, an enormous shotgun used to kill whole flocks of birds. Woe betide the supernatural horror on the recieving end of its blast. The bastard sword back up is pretty fearsome as well.

OMG.  Fowling Cannon is more accurate!   lol   lol   ;)

You have an army, we have a hulk level weapon!

Nice job on the figure, please post the others as you finish them.

I am setting my "Northern Mexico" CiC games in the 1840's.  Still trying to decide how to balance the single shot humans versus the monsters.

Gracias,

Glenn

He looks boss! I loved Chuck Bronson by the way. Where's the mini from? A conversion?

Thanks for the kind words! there are more figures to come. I'm trying to figure out the monsters, I'm looking at Aztec and Mayan mythology for inspiration.
