SOTR Spider Mechs

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but Westwind's site lists two Spider Mech for the Russians. Really great looking tanks.

3, actually:

Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear.

I know, but the two smaller ones haven't been released yet. I first saw them a while ago on some Spanish blog, but I didn't know they were actually going to be released by Westwind...I thought they were very good conversions or something.

I believe that the two new walkers are now available for pre-order on the West Wind site.

Nice, but I've got the Ramshackle Games huntsman spider tank and a turret from a 1/35 KV2 ready to convery..reckon that'll be a nice walking mecha when done. Though as my old drawing teacher used to say..'don't tell me, show me!'.

I do like that tank, but I personally think it's a little bit too Steampunk for WWWII.
The thing that I don't like about the Nayk Spider Mecha (the biggest one) is the terrain it's standing on...it looks like it's standing on skis...the rest looks very good. Even though I don't play SoTR (I do have the rules), I'm a sucker for Spider Tanks.

Hacksaw!

Knowing me, I'll only screw things up big time doing that.

I'd just base it on a bigger circular base and you won't notice the skis. I dont like that either.

I suppose the colour and tone of the tank and the bases are too similar. Were you to do the tank and legs in green and give the bases a winter/snow theme, the ski-syndrome would not be as bad...

And I really like the two smaller crawlers (especially the light version). As posted before, I also find the one with the large turret to be a bit too cartooney/steampunkish. Still a nice model though! 8)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
