Yeah, it looks very close to the spirit of the original. Looking forward to the next installment.

Excellent work so far, looking forward to seeing it finished. If I remember correctly, didn't Toyah drive about in a chariot made from the front half of a fire engine in one of her videos? Could be a good model.

Revised sculpt with paper ribbons from the severed head, new wings and jewellery.

Original picture.

I think you're hot on the trail there.

Retrosmashalicious!  Great so far!

Toyah Wilcox, ahh 80's punk with a lisp!
Shes now turned voice actress on kids show Brum!

Who was the artist on the cover?

To do the wings try this:

Cut blister pack plastic wings.

Give it a light sand to take off shine.

Mix ocre acrylic paint with a little acrylic modelling paste or heavy impasto medium to give it some weight and paint on the thicker veins- you can get needle tip bottles (look like reaper paint bottles) from art stores that act like a cake icing bag.

Then paint the thinner lines in with regular paint.

Matt varnish to seal.

Benefit of being flexible.

What should I call her?

How about "Mythstery"?

I like "Mythstery". If she came from Fife, you could summon her by saying (prepare to groan): "Oh sweet, Mythstery of Fife!"

I started to paint her last night.  Here is a WIP photo.
These are still the 2nd set of prototype wings.

It is amazing what you see in a photograph - I sill have some work to do.
In real life the figure looks better than this photo :-)

Looking good :) The color palette is spot on and the composition is excellent (not always easy to translate 2D into 3D).

Thank-you for the kind comments.

Photography is very cruel to painted miniatures, so I have done some improvements on the painting since the picture above.

I am still thinking about the wings.
I have written to Sarissa Precision to see if they can "laser cut" me a set from a sketch.

I will post here if I have a positive result.

Regards

Mick

Hey Mick! I can identify with the photography woes. The Fairy Chick did paint up cool, however...nice color choices & brushwork that even the photo can't diminish. WELL DONE!

For wings you might consider Reaper's Fairy Wings:
