Help tracking down thick 'funky foam' please
« on: November 17, 2012, 03:26:46 PM »
Hi,

I am trying to track down 5-6mm thick soft foam along the style of 'funky foam'.

So far I have tracked down tons of 2mm / 3mm thick and have resorted to getting glue to stick the sheets together but I know they make 'reindeer antlers' and 'Christmas Trees' out of it >:( :'( >:(

I have tried 'Foamalux Foam' but it is too rigid for my needs and most of the LARP sites I've tried say to use this for costumes due to its defensive quality  :o

edit:

I have seen 'Plastazote' foam but this shines and is full of bubble holes  :-[

Thanks in advance
Andrew

Sounded like he wants it for SCA (i.e. historical reenactment) armour?

Is EVA foam what you are talking about?

Thanks for the questions and ideas and the EVA name.

The Hobbycraft foam is only 2-3mm thick but the eBay link is on its way to me.

As for armour - not at my age  :D

As for the need - given I have done nothing with games for the last few months (well Feb at least) and have not really wanted to I decided I would revist this project but in a Portable Wargames 8x8 format as a trial to see if I am up to this...
