Studio Miniatures Zombies Comparison.
« on: November 19, 2012, 04:41:05 AM »
This must be my week for Kickstarter and IndieGoGo stuff. Earlier in the week I got my Citi-Def minis from Mongoose and today got my Z-Clipz zombies from Studio Miniatures. Here are a few pics comparing them to Wargames Factory plastic zombies and Zombie Plague's Crissy Hot-Rod.

I'll be painting some of these as time allows. First impressions is that they have much better detail and proportions than the Wargames Factory zombies and seem to be slightly taller overall. In the following pictures the Wargames Factory zombies are the ones with sand on the bases.

(Note: The packaging that says that the box contains 60 miniatures but this is not the case. This might just be a typo.)

40 zombies plus 3 metal ones and 8 resin heads for $30. Good deal!

They certainly look less like potatoes than the Wargames Factory ones (which I have). I may have to get a box.

I like what I see.  8) Thanks for posting.

Have all legs bases attached? And if so, why are there additional bigger bases in the box?
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

The bases are attached and once they are stacked on top of the larger base it starts to look like a birthday cake.  :?
It's going to be difficult to blend the bases together.

Those integrated bases might fit in the Mantic Games bases.  If mine ever show up, I'll try them in some of my Mantic bases and let everyone know.

I don't really like raised basis in general, so I only base on washers.  For these guys, I'll probably just leave on the attached base.

Never mind. I've got these Zeds and Mantic bases. Wanted to take a pic just now, but found out the zombie bases are 16mm diameter while the recess in the Mantic bases are 15mm.
Didn't feel like sanding right now so no pic.

Painted these two last night. They paint up quite quickly and the detail is much better than that of the Wargames Factory ones (although obviously not as good as metal or resin) Nevertheless they're nice enough and when I'm done with what I've got I will be getting some more!

Aha!
There is evidence!
You painted those damn fast, and very nicely too.

Looking good so far.  I really like that prison style uniform?  I'll be stealing that idea since I'll have a lot of these guys to paint, a handful of prisoners would take care of a couple of them.

I am still waiting on mine here in the states.  O got the $55 deal and then another $30 deal for good measure.  Just waiting on this end.  I like your paint job on these and thank you for the images and the comparison shots.
