What a great project. The minis look awesome!
Can I just ask what the best way you've found of gluing your shields on? I like to paint everything separately and glue them on when the mini and the shield are both finished however they have a habit of popping off almost straight away. Any tips or advise would be appreciated.

Pinning helps. Generous amounts of superglue also helps. Waiting till the glue has settled completely also helps. Other than that I føcking hate gluing shields and spears.  lol lol

Do you have a link for Rogue Miniatures? I have been looking at a couple of Reaper figures for female Druids.

OK, so now I've finished my Saxon necromancer:

He's ready to chant, fart and get the Saxon hordes into a good fighting mood

There. The hearth guard is done. Still waiting for the rest of the geoduth to be finished... won't be this week but perhaps next week.

I absolutely abhor painting shields... and I'm not having a great time doing it so I slob. And that's why I've decided to go LBM transfers from here on. I'll never paint a shield design again!

I particularly like the violet and green one  :-*

It's always good to have one figure destined to be the first casualty in the unit  ;)

Haha yeah. The designs are inspired by candy wrappings, umbrella corporation and a nuclear danger sign....

Haha yeah! Well - goes to show what I know about Saxons. I the end I just go for whatever takes my fancy. And Curtis comments on pink being a manly colour back then got me thinking.  lol lol

I'm very very tempted by the idea of painting up some pulp figures and do my Project Wagner using these miniatures.

Idea is simply that a crazed German scientist has had the luck to synthesise a small group of complete Saxons (shields, clothes, spears and all)  from some ancient remains and some novel DNA recombinatory techniques. A crack team of British para troopers now have to spoil this plot.  lol
