A week of holiday easting, drinking and entertaining relatives has slowed my progress - though today I made some headway.  The construction of the plane is done and I've sanded through two layers of primer to fill scratches.  Next step is the final primer layer, then color.  I hope to have the plane painted this weekend so I can get busy on the water base and crewmen... and meet the contest deadline.

Wow    I am so jealous of your ability.

While snowblowing this morning I caught a power cord and the wire dog tether (minus dog)! in the auger. There were many 4 letter words shared (in front of the children) as I removed the twisted wire cables.  Then, In a rush to get the catalina painted I mixed the wrong color.  Removing it stripped much of my primer and raised some grain - so that sets me back a couple days to get the paint right.  Might be tite to make that deadline!

Last layers of paint and clear coat today and then photos tomorrow!  Here's a glimpse of the waist gunner conversion (he'll be hard to see once he's inside the MG blister)

...and here's the water platform.  Again this will be mostly covered by the plane.  I made this from epoxy putty (green stuff) acrylic paint and several layers of clear lacquer spray.

Wow! Just wow! (with the exclamation mark of course). Another fine entry. I'm getting somewhat embarassed by my entry but will resist 'accidentally' dropping it and submit (assuming I finish) in the spirit of the competition. Lovely work sir.
