Have you tried looking for plastic genestealers on Ebay? You should be able to get them fairly cheaply.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

Or have you thought about fake plastic flies/ants/locusts at the toystore? Those often go for around 25 cents, which would certainly be cheap, even for your standards... ;)

And yes on the 'Nids; check out Matakishi's bugs; just Gaunts with beads for eyes, which totally changes their appearance...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

He did state not wanting to spend more than €1/piece and genestealers don't come that cheap IMO.

I don't want to buy tyranids, I don't want to create some kind of "poor man version" of licenced space hulk. I want to keep it as generic as possible ;)

If you're paying more than a £ per gene, you're paying too much.

I stand corrected. when looking via ebay.be I only got those expensive hits. I saw lots of better deals through ebay.co.uk
I should've known better as I have encountered this ebay-behavior before  :?

If you are willing to go 15mm, check out QRF:

http://quickreactionforce.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=440_544_545

They have smaller aliens and bigger aliens, more geigeresque than buggish, but the price is nice.  Also, their humans will match up pretty decently with the troopers from Forlorn Hope (which I just got in the mail Monday!).

I have a bunch of these painted up and intend to use them with the game.

Defiance is currently having issues shipping the bugs so . . . probably not.

thanks Captain ! It seems to be a good choice, and price is nice too !

edit : apparently the small QRF aliens are about the same size than the 10mm pendraken (small 15mm fig against big 10mm fig). So mixing te two ranges should be possible I guess.

Well for "bugs" instead of "Aliens" how about http://shop.groundzerogames.net/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=195 for young bugs and I think they have a 25 mm version "bug" that I can't find right now (and, as a result of my inability to confirm the price,) may or may not meet you cost factor)...

Gracias,

Glenn

Its a demon army. I like the way its like "we entered the demon city, where the very stones and walls were out to eat us!", add plus 15 insanity points etc.

Im sure this is not to every ones taste, but never the less its a whole army for under £5 and I think it looks cool. Its much better then a well sculpted army that has 1 painted model and the rest undercoated black, plus some still in bare metal plus bits broken off. SO different strokes for different blokes I guess!

It is a bit rough, but its a good idea. Alien monsters come in all types and shapes, so why not just make them out of cheap and recyled items?

Guess I was fortunate to find my Brood clix for .99 USD each.

Concerning cheap bugs (halloween stuff, etc...) I didn't found anything interesting  :(

Concerning robots, I'd prefer to make a classic xenos VS humans match  lol

Concerning DIY stuff, I like your ideas, and I know a bit of sculpting, but we're talking about 50 pieces to make  :o The problem is that I don't have material for molding (except latex but it's not convinient for figures).

Concerning GZG 6mms bugs : too small I'm afraid  lol I want to keep the 15 or 28mm scale.

I guess there is 2 options :

15mm : mix of Khurasan and Pendraken minis

28mm : defiance games figures

I'll wait a little, I think. For now I ordered the game, and I'll play it with counters. I also found an interesting thing at toy shop  lol :

thank you all !
