It's free on NetFlix streaming. It was funny, but about 20 minutes too long. Very camp.

They made a board game out of it already...

Put me in the "Wow it was pretty bad but I enjoyed it" camp.  It sure was heavy-handed, and the plot made very little sense at times, but I emerged feeling that my evening and my $12 were not wasted, which is more than I can say for many movies that cost a lot more to make.

And besides; it is already common knowledge that the Finnish have a weird sense of humour, vai ei?  :D
Voe tokkiisa. Not as weird generally as the Norvegians tend to make it out to be, but some do have it weirder than others.

Now I wonder if I want to see it.
Yes, I am an American, but I have lived overseas several times for extended periods of time so I am well aware of foreign views of the U.S.A. and its peoples.

My lineage is of Welsh and Scots and have spent a lot of time with family there; enough that I have been taken for either on the Continent due to speech patterns and such; raked in some honest opinions from folks there about the U.S.A. thanks to that.
Opinions vary widely with where you go that is for sure; cannot hear a bad word about the Americans in Luxembourg - nearly got tossed from a bar for saying something taken as anti-American; same level of reaction in Normandy.
Meanwhile in Paris, does anyone like the Americans?
Then again, when I went to Paris after visiting relatives in Edinburgh, I was received much better with how I sounded than when I visited Paris after visiting with family in North Wales.
Funny that.

As to '80s Hollywood's Soviets Daeothar, you should look at the same period's Soviet cinema's Americans!
Being fairly even-handed in my view honestly after having seen films produced in both countries about the other, I think Americans would be more aghast than any of the peoples of the former U.S.S.R..
Then again, Americans are completely taken back by how they are depicted in a great many foreign films.
What they see is, far more often than not, not how they see themselves in any way.

Iron Sky is free on Netflicks, eh?
It is not on Amazon to Prime members.
Should I complain to Amazon or do a Netflicks 1-month trial just to see it?
Decisions, decisions.
Query: is it worth a .99 cent rental?
Or would I be saying part way through, "I wish I had spent the money on a chocolate bar instead."?

Well, it's less fattening than a chocolate bar.

More so if you happen to get all hot and bothered about how bad it is 8)

I found it a bit meh personally. The plot made no sense and most characters were left as rather stereotypical caricatures 'cuz the director didn't want to risk directing actors and put in some action instead. So it's not much different from your standard Hollywood shlockbuster, only made with much less money and thus not quite as polished effectswise in some places.

I don't think Parisians like anybody. I remeber when I was in Paris and it had been a long day. Try to grab a taxi. The driver stares at us, babbles something in French and speeds off at 100km an hour.

I've met some Americans, they're pretty cool.

Snore.  Loved the first trailer, the idea, they way they made it but the final product was just plain bad.  This from  the guy who still thinks Zone Troopers is by far the best WWWII movie to date.

The Keep has some very cool bits, but also soms shockingly lame parts.

To me, the best WWWII movie is still the first 10 minutes of Hellboy.

And "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Last Crusade" are classics too of course.

I can confirm this. Parisians detest everyone, including each other and themselves as individuals.
