CANCON 2013
« on: 09 January 2013, 09:48:04 AM »
While this isn't exactly news... http://www.cgs.asn.au/index.php/cancon

And it looks like it will be pretty big, celebrating 100 years of war gaming.

Saturday 26th to Monday 28th of January, Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) Canberra.

So who else is going? :)

Yes! I'll actually be there all three days on and off... not that I'm competing in anything, but I do like a good rummage in the second hand market.

I picked up a relatively cheap copy of Warhammer 3rd. Edition last year... still haven't played a game of it, though ;)

I'll be there on the first day. Not sure for the rest as I start packing for the move interstate.

Best wishes,
Helen

Camera: good idea. There's not much of a spectacle at the shows I've been to, but CanCon has some nice tables.

Apparently the Bring and Buy is going to be on its own floor, it used to be heaps of plastic baggies in trays and plastic boxes from memory :) might be worth a trip!

What is the second hand stalls like there these days? Is there bulk amounts of stuff stupid cheap? If so I will fly up to make a large buy and fly back home again. 10 years living in Canberra cured me of spending more time there than i have to.

Come up on Saturday, even if it's just to catch up with members?

I'm planning on going for the Blood Bowl tourney, and plan to return laden with gaming goodies.

The second hand stall was on a second level. On the fist day it was mayhem as everyone was trying to fit into a very small room. I bought Empire IV for 10 dollars.

Cheers,

Helen

Was the cat in the cage the traditional sacrifice to apease cuthulu before the start of the show?

I think it was 'everyone play nice, or the kitten gets it'.
