poundland truck conversion in 20mm
« on: January 21, 2013, 11:31:41 AM »
a chap from our club came showed us these:-
http://sotcw.punbb-hosting.com/viewtopic.php?id=202
as used in alan hamiltons excellent made up african army collection,
USA style poundland trucks a few weeks ago, the standard wheels are the spoked ones and are glaringly obvious as a major off putting factor for buying them and look realy daft on a 5 ton truck.
the truck i almost an m923 series 5 ton truck as used from mid 80's onwards and apart from the wheels is not too bad a representation of the type, even the tilt comes off.
this got me thinking that as i wanted some better wheels for mine i made some from our already vast range of modern nato wheels & tyres.

the other thing that could be done to finnish it off is a step under the cab, easliy made from some plasticard.
these will be offered for general sale if anyone is interested.
they are a direct replacement for the original, just remove the original axles and wheels.
the new wheels have 1/2 an axle on the back and they just glue into the original axle hole.
thanks
