3mm Moderns by Jake

Okay, as requested:

The US Combined Arms BN was the first I painted.  Done up as 3-8 Cav (3rd BCT 1Cav Div).  It is missing engineers and some support stuff.   Combat vehicles at 1:1, infantry dismounts at a little less.  Platoon bases except the recce platoon split into sections.   One platoon of Paladins and one of MLRS in support (those need to be rebased onto bigger bases).

Next is an Iranian Armored BDE.  Two tank BNs and 1 mech infantry and 1 dismounted/leg BN.  Lots of arty support.  BDE has recce, AT, and ADA assets, BNs have their AT and Recce sections too.   

And the Israelis.   Two tank BNs from an Armor BDE.  Still need to do a lot of support and the infantry BN.   The BN and company designators on gun tubes and track skirts are kind of sloppy, but frankly they were a bitch to do...

Amazing work CptJake  and thank you for posting these! They look very impressive en masse, I really like how you painted them and how you managed the desert bases. I would love to start collecting this scale but am not sure how difficult it would be to play a game with all these elements (arty, infantry, mechanized, air, etc). What rules would you recommend?

I've used Cold War Commander, but also have Modern Spearhead. 

These figures paint up quickly and are pretty cool.   Unforunately these armies may be in my 'For Sale' bin pretty soon along with a TON of unpainted stuff.   I really need to unload stuff I'm not currently using and unfortunately these fit that category.

Please let us know when these go on sale -  I am leaving 1/300th Moderns/Near Future Sf for 1/600th and certainly would be interested in trying to squeeze more dollars out of the budget for something like this.
