We just added a video showing gameplay and explaining the basic rules of Godslayer at the Kickstarter site:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1948302892/godslayer-rise-of-legends

A) Firstly it used 2d6 not 1 D6. With 1D6 you cannot really control the probabilities because every number has an equal chance of being rolled, but with 2D6 you have the so-called bell-curve. So actions are performed with dice rolls. For example a Melee attack is MEL n+2D6 vs DEF of the target. missile attacks are MIS +2D6 vs DEF of the target, etc.

B) IGOUGO The I go you go system is much better than a turn-based system. in the I go you go system I activate a model or unit and do EVERYTHING with that model including movement, shooting, melee, and other things. Then you activate a model/unit and do eveyrthing with them. This is a much better system than turn-based because both players stay contantly engaged in the game and the situation on the battlefield is in contsant flux. I remember turned based games where one player moves so the other one goes and makes coffee for 15 minutes...

C) During an activation, each unit or individual model can perfrom actions in any order, so it can move once then shoot then move again, then use a tactic, then make an attack etc. This allows amazing realism and playability. Each model/unit has a certain number of Action tokens and every action costs a certain amount of tokens to perform. for example, moving once X your MOV value costs one action token. Most melee attacks cost 2 action tokens but some heavy attacks with 2-handed weapons cost 3 action tokens to perform, etc.

D) Most combat is simultaneous. One thing that really annoyed me with some games was that a charge was devastating. In godslayer, when my unit charges your unit, your unit make make a passive activation and perform an attack every time I perform an attack (assuming you have action tokens left over). So most charges are not devastating, but naturally charging still gives excellent bonusses and is worth doing!

E) All models have life points unlike in some games, where a model has only 1 life-pooint or "wound". These are easy to track because every model/unit has a profile card with boxes to mark off the damage for each model. And by the way, the profile cards are all laminated! so you dont have to use plastic sleeves!

There are tons of other cool things about the game, but the above are the main core mechanics. With these rules we get smooth, fast playability, coupled with awesome realism and flexibility. The rules and models were playtested for thousands of hours over a four-year period and the games therefore is incredibly well balanced.

Hi Timbor,

Hill Ogres are 50mm from base to top of natural head when standing straight.

This one is cooking along nicely. Even though I'm going greek, the other factions are pretty tempting as well.

Today we passed the 75% mark and even reached 81% of the Kickstarter target!

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!

We have rearranged some of the stretch goals. Now they are closer to reaching and we are only half way, so if everyone spreads the word and convinces a friend to start Godslayer we could really unlock most or all of them by the deadline.

The best news is that we were feeling so happy and crazy today that we unlocked the stretch goals for the free trooper models and Godslayer map! That's a thanks to the many dedicated backers who have supported us so far!

Andre has spent several hours updating the Kickstarter site and created new reward images that will show all the unlocked and locked stretch goals for each reward.

I must say I am impressed with the enthusiasm and support you guys have offered for your project.  I would like to back your project, but my hobby funds are shot for the month... we will see if I can swing anything at the start of march before the campaign ends.  Keep up the good work.

I think the not-greeks (halodynes) would be my faction of choice.  Very dynamic poses and sculpting.

I'm in the same boat as timbor, would like to but funds don't stretch that far atm. I'd gor for mortans, I always seem to go for zombies

The Mortans are very nice as well, though I am not as keen on zombies, hence my preference for the halodynes.

Can't really justify yet another system, but I hope this kickstarter succeeds.
I will probably get those two floating priestess figures at some point.
Really like those models.

I really like the 'roman' and 'spartan' faction.

Just wondering... for the 'Centuria Commander' option for the Halodynes.

You get 2 Unit Cores + 2 Trooper boxes... how many actual miniatures is that?

16 from what I read it as, less for the bigger models (e.g. beastmen, trogs and apparently the wyldfolk).

Hi guys,

I understand about the finances. No problem. If you miss the Kickstarter you can still get stuff at the regular prices.,  Our prices are pretty good compared to other heroic-scale 32mm skirmish models, and the rulebook package is awesome value, so you can still geta  good deal even at normal prices.

Of course Kickstarter offers even more....

Tim, here's the Centuria Commander model count is as follows:
Banebrood - 2X 6-model Maldire Mongreln units, plus 2 characters, 1 warlord and 2 Creatures.
Halodynes - 2X 8-model Hoplite units, plus 2 characters, 1 warlord and 2 Creatures.
Mortans - 2X 8-model Legionnaire units, plus 2 characters, 1 warlord and 2 war-machines.
Nordgaard - 2X 8-model fjell Warrior units, plus 2 characters, 1 warlord and 2 Creatures.
Troglodytes - 2X 5-model Ironhide Brutes units, plus 1 character, 1 warlord and 2 Creatures.
Wyldfolk - 3X 6-model Bladeslinger units, plus 2 characters, 1 warlord and 2 ogre-size characters.

They work out to be about the same value in terms of retail price, with Wyldfolk being the best deal.

In terms of model points values they are as follows (including the stretch-goal characters which has now been unlocked):

Banebrood         324
Halodynes          346
Mortans              365
Nordgaard          352
Troglodytes       332
Wyldfolk             363
