When Professor Abraham Van Helsing and his small band of Vampire Hunters destroyed Count Dracula he thought the nightmare was over. It was only the beginning, since that day London had become the feeding ground of the Undead. No one was able to confirm how long they had been there or how many of them there were, but their numbers were steadily growing. Dracula had boasted he was the first of his kind to venture to the capital of the known world with a plan to create a new Vampire kingdom.  But he was wrong on one account, it had aready started many years before his arrival. All his presence did was alert the public to the ever growing problem. Some say the government already knew of their existence and chose to do nothing about it. Some say the government was paid for its silence. Some say even in the corridors of Buckingham Palace it was common knowledge, people were even asking why the Prince of Wales was no longer seen during daylight hours.......

I was prompted by some of the excellent threads here on LAF to dig out my old Gothic Horror collection and give Empire of the Dead a try. I arranged to meet up with Thundercheeks yesterday and so before he arrived I set the table up and took a few photos to get me in the mood.

Here is ruined abbey and graveyard, a breeding ground for the Undead.

Ok so onto my first game. I was to play the Nosferatu clan and Thundercheeks the Gentlemans club come to vanquish me. We played a straight stand up fight, with the sole bjective to destroy the opposition. After a brief introduction to the rules I designed my force, a Graf (The leader) His consort (a lesser Vampire) and a number of Thralls (servants) The thralls were mostly armed with rifles, one with a sword and one a shotgun. The Graf and Consort were also armed with swords. This goes against my idea of Vampires having the need for weapons, but I was advised to take them .

Cheeks Gentlemans club had already been created and used in a previosu game. He re-equipped them to fight Vampires as they were previously Werewolf hunters. This time he would have no need for silver bullets!

Here are my starting forces split into two groups.

Cheeks Gentlemen arrive on the board armed with repeating rifles. I didnt spot those on the weapons chart!

One was even armed with a portable Gatling gun! They quickly made mincemeat of my Thralls

Fortunately for me whilst he was having fun shooting up my minions I was able to sneak up on his president!

Lady Carstairs wearing the latest fashions recently seen on the Paris catwalks..

My Vampire lord joins in the fun and kills the President

Here he is again sneaking up on another poor unfortunate soul

Lady Carstairs attempts to bag a Thrall named Bobby. There was another called Albert and another called Sky..

The sun was setting and the need to feed was upon them.

She's behind you!

I must say I thoroughly the game and will definitely be giving it another go in due course. :)
