Hi Paul,

These look really good and I too am a fan of larger units.

I look forward to seeing updates as you progress.

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks Paul.
They are a bit of a pain to paint..they were already painted but to a very bad standard..missing the red cuffs, collars painted red all the way around,no epaulettes,  bronze instead of gold on the hats,no chin straps,  the saddle blankets the wrong pattern, the backs of the trousers not painted, the faces almost white, reins painted too thick, bits and buckles not painted, no shading on troopers or horses, some of the black horses painted with thick gloss,  big gaps between on colour and another  ...the list is endless, o_o

Impressive. So how are you going about this mass painting project to make it quick and as painless as possible??? Do tell...

I got the 250 cavalry in the middle of march  and told it would be nice if they were finished by the start of may. I divided the number figs by the number of days, it came to about 2.5 a day and then set out to beat the  daily target. When I get 10 days or so ahead of my target,  I take a break and paint something else.
Also painting them for someone else helps keeps the focus.
The 120 Austrian Pioneers I painted for the same Project were more difficult to paint..it seemed like I was painting nothing but mouse grey and white for days on end.  o_o

Brilliant effort Paul
