Here are a couple of finished Zeds, my first go with tamiya clear red...

I really dig the effects. Would it be possible to mix in black or green for different colors? I've never seen the clear red...does it come in dropper or a pot?

Tamiya clear colours come in the same pots as their other paints.

That first go with the clear red turned out well- looks like these two just had a little snack...

If you mix in a bit of black, that darkens the whole thing and works well for older blood or to add a bit more depth.
Tamiya have different clear paints- blue, green (I think there's two different greens), red, yellow, orange and just clear. All the Tamiya paints come in screw top pots.
I've only used red so far (and Smoke, which works well for greasy, oily stains), but keep thinking green might be great for slime/ ectoplasm.

Have to agree with ink. I have two pots of Tania clear red. One got low so I added a little chaos black to it. It really gives a good look to blood.
You've done really well with it though. I like it. :)

Hoi!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys!  I'm always torn on, 'some' v 'too much' blood, but the truth is, since I have 12 of each sculpt, I can afford to do a little of each and use it to help break up the poses.

@obsidian3d  - I've only been using the red with some black to shade, so far, but I ordered one of each of the other colors this week.  From what I've looked up online, people have had nice results using other colors and combinations.  I plan to play around with more greenish blood to help further differentiate the Season 2 Zombies from Season 1 types.

@beefcake- GREAT idea!  I bought one pot 2 weeks ago and 4 more last week.  Now that I have more than one pot, and one half gone, I can add some black so as to not have to blend every time.  Have you found that as soon as you add the black, the paint almost dries up immediately?

Cheers All!

Very nice gore effects.

I'm curious, how easy is it to remove the bases and replace them with the clear acrylic ones? I could see a problem coming up on the female walkers, as their shoes are small and lack a lot of area to hold glue.

Pretty easy actually.  i clip off the front of the base, then the back. Then I take out as much of the center as possible.  Then I turn them upside down and clip off 99% of the bottom that I need to cut.  I trim with a razor, run it over flat sandpaper on a table, hit the feet with glue and wha-la!  SUPER simple, just takes a few minutes per model.

I thought a lot about the high-heels problem....  The glue I use melts the two types of plastics together, so the bond is very strong.  But I can always allow for just a little more 'base' around their feet to give them greater stability.  I haven't decided 100% yet.

Just glue the tip of the feet or apply very little to the surface of the heels (maybe spread some glue very thin on a piece of paper and "dip" the fig into it)

Yep, pretty much the plan.

I'm meeting with some mates I met here tomorrow for my first game of zombicide!

Sadly I dont have all of the zombies based clear, but they are all painted.

And the survivors are mostly not done, but this wont be true for long!

I'll try and send a battle report!

It becomes a lot tackier once you add the black. But I find that it works for it anyway as that sort of blood should be extra gooey.
