I'm assembling a samurai family as a Xmas gift for friends. Does anyone know who makes this guy?



Any idea about the scale/size?

I honestly don't know, but I'd take a guess (from the the picture source) that it's an unreleased figure from AEG's (now by Valiant?) Clan Wars range (Lion Clan?) - happy to be told otherwise though

He is lovely, wonder if he is from that company knocking out the more fantasy type samurai, he looks a bit different from clan war stuff

Well i contacted Bob Charrette, the sculptor, and this is what he said:

I did those for Clan Wars when it was with the original manufacturer, essentially as work for hire. The miniatures have changed hands at least twice since then and I have no connection with those transfers.  Sorry.

Will have to follow up with Valiant now, like Vern suggested.

Would anyone else be interested in buying this guy? Maybe we can persuade them to do something with him.

Well i've been over to the yahoo groups clan war forum and they were very helpful.

Apparently there were 2 editions of Akodo Deathseekers, 1st edition and Daimyo Edition. He is from the Daimyo (i think).

These guys are great!  I have been looking for nice, lightly armored Samurai and these guys fill the bill!  Are they still for sale, I wonder?

There are very few google hits for them ("Daimyo Akodo Death Seekers"). You'd expect a few old ebay entries at the very least...

Please do, and I will do the same!  I'd only want about half the pack, and I'd give you your pick of the one you wanted, so perhaps between the two of us we can track a pack down.

Bushido has just released a very nice looking samurai mini that should fit the bill-



I'll keep looking for the Daimyo edition Akodo Death Seekers anyway, just because it bugs me when i can't find something.
