Skaven rat ogre convos
« on: March 27, 2013, 11:50:06 AM »
I'm about to start my fourth attempt at a skaven army, based around the luverly new Perbettian skaven (the main thing keeping me attached to GW these days) and a fanlist for the shiny Mantic KoW rules.  First thing is to offload the non-Perbett minis I want to replace, which amounts to a couple of old plastic rat ogres and packmasters.  But since the rat ogres were half-converted, I figured they needed fixing up and finishing off before going into a buyer's market.  And now they're done:

These were started off as quadrupedal rat ogres for an old Clan Moulder WD list, hence the hunched-over knuckle-dragging.  Should still fit nicely among someone's conventional rat ogres, tho.

The little rat on the ogre's back is a nice touch.

Very nice, and I too like the rat-on-shoulder. 8) 8)
I am quite remote to GW at the moment, so - Perbettian?  ???

You've made those rat ogres look much better than the straight out of the box multiparts.

They look great, seems a shame to get rid of them after that effort?

Lovely 'little' conversions. Don't sell them!
The little rat looks a bit like it was telling the Ratogres in which direction to go "Left, I said, left! Ooch, the other left- stupid, stupid rat creatures..." *grumble, mutter*

Perbettian?
Seb Perbet did design/ sculpt quite a few of the newer Ratmen. So I guess that'd make them Perbettian Skaven.

Ta all!

Those are great I like the hair how it matches I can never seem to match hair.

I have trouble with hair in general, and sometimes matching details of conversions too.  Fortunately, despite a couple of hiccups in the process, the hair on these isn't overcomplicated.

stupid, stupid rat creatures...

lol Tempted to put a quiche on one base, now.

Or if you do sell them, sell them to me  ;) lol

They'll be going up on ebay in a day or so.  'Zat okay? ;)

Aye, that.  GW's new(ish) superstar sculptor.  Started out on the orks, IIRC, but went on to sculpt or resculpt a few other races and monsters in the new chunkier, cartoonier style.  I think it's a bit hit and miss meself: not fond of the current lizardmen stegadon, at all, but I think it works brilliantly with skaven.

Shortly considered suggesting that, but wasn't sure if you had read the comics. If not, mentioning quiche would've seemed a wee bit random.

Ah, thanks, ink and Vermis.
I like my old (and very old) skaven, but these are very nice too, like the style.
