You'd think they would notice how annoyed and put off by resin the customer base has been and reverse their decision. Though it might mean a hefty price increase.

Since I have not seen their sales figures I don't know that they are losing sales...  Just because I am ambivalent at best (clumsy is a good nickname for me some days) doesn't mean they are not selling like hot cakes to others...

Gracias,

Glenn

Personally I think the resin castings are gorgeous.  They do require some clean up with a sharp knife, but the detail is just amazing.  I'll be their customer as long as they keep releasing new Tombstone sets.

I suppose my comment was a bit unfair. I was basing what I said on the reaction I had seen here to the switch to resin.

If they had metal as an option still I'd definitely pay an extra bit to ship or purchase them.

I love hard plastic, and metal...never been a fan of resin.  The miniatures are fine (I have 8 or so resin BS old west figures)...but I fear for snapping/breaking.  I'd still really prefer a good quality boxed set of modular plastic cowboys...but I won't derail this thread with that!  lol

I agree...thankfully in this case the Black Scorpion line is very hefty and large for 25/28mm, so an unexpected benefit is that I don't fear these will break as easily as some other more finely cast ranges.  I'm confident.  lol  I need to add some metal to the base though...no satisfying "thunk" when you move them!

I have a long list of figures I'd love to see Black Scorpion release for the Tombstone range.  Mounted and dismounted US Cavalry would probably be at the top, follwed by mounted and dismounted Commanche.

I sadly had a resin pirate snap at the ankles when putting the figure into a storage box.   Trust me when I say I was not being rough with it.  That figure was from their first batch of resin releases.

I honestly haven't had a singe problem with the resin figures, and I have had a couple fall off the table.  They have even been handled by my almost 3 year old grand daughter with no damage.

Funny you should mention that.  I ordered a big batch of pirates when they first went to resin...they were so bad I emailed and complained to them.  The castings were horrible, resin was powdery, with exposed metal rods...a couple pieces arrived broken. Truly horrible stuff.  I sold them off on ebay.  I did receive a free four pack of miniatures from Black Scorpion as they redid their entire resin process (something they were aware of when I first emailed them).

The new stuff is 10x better, night and day and is more in line with other normal quality resin figures. Much more robust, cleaner lines, better resin etc.  So, I feel your pain.  I don't have pictures to compare, but the new stuff is fine as far as resin goes.  I'll be selling off my current resin pirates (I have a couple of sets).  Let me know if you're looking for anything, maybe I can bring it down.

I did have 4 or 5 figs from that order with exposed metal rods an/or broken parts in the package.   I kept everything, and it looks good painted, but I wasn't too happy.   I didn't complain or try to get them replaced though.  The one breaking while putting it away did tick me off quite a bit though.   I'm scared to take them out and use them at this point.   :-[

It is good to hear they have improved their resin casting because I do like a lot of their figures.

Yeah, the old stuff was really bad...the new package they sent me were good enough that I have since purchased a couple of sets of figures without pause.  I can even bring some new resin ones down if we game sometime so you can see the difference.

Does anyone know how BS figures compare in size to the Foundry range?
