Shipping container, impassable terrain.
« on: 30 April 2013, 08:03:43 AM »
I've been working on some terrain for the rules scurv and I developed for his future sports miniatures.
Here is a piece of impassable terrain that I made. I now just need to make a mould for it which I may do tomorrow if I have time. I also had left over space on the sheets of mdf and acrylic that I got laser cut so I made up a small crate as well. That will probably be used as difficult terrain.

Here's a WIP pick with a eureka miniature for scale as well. This picture isn't of the finished piece though.
The mdf is 3mm thick and the acrylic is 1mm thick. It is going to be hollow on the inside except for some bracing pieces that I also had cut.

very nice one! And perfect for a single-piece cast!

I just released the article for sculpting mine, lol!

Very nice. And you've made me realise what I'm missing opine too. I need the pieces that hold the locking mechanism to the door. That would have been a bad miss.

Made the mould and cast. The insert really cuts down on a lot of resin. 90mls of resin per container. Still a lot of bubbles in it though.

A view of the front doors. Quite a bit of bubbling here. Oh well good for post apoc.

Thanks all. Yours looks great michi.
I think doing the whole dockyard would take up my whole house floor space. Time to knock out some walls  lol
Glad you like it scurv.  :)

Sadly I'm now out of silicone so won't be able to make the little box until I get some more  :'(
