IHMN - first attempt at a game
« on: 05 May 2013, 08:03:32 PM »
My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen, I present for your consideration part 1 of my inaugural "In Her Majesty's Name" game, set on the banks of the mighty river Nile.

We trust that Lord Curr's company will prevail over the evil that is the Servants of Ra, and if not, well, at least we'll have tried the rules before our first game against an opponent.

Thanks for looking,

Norman

Nice report.

You've made one mistake with your machine gun fire though. It's the same mistake I made until I asked Craig about it :D

You split the SV of the character, not the machine gun. So Mohan Singh can split his +3 and shoot up to three other figures and adds the SV of the gun to each of those shots. So +6 to all three shots thanks to the +5 from the machine gun, it's more accurate than you think!
So many projects..... so little time.......

Ah OK - makes sense on the MG.

I'll amend my report, as one of the things I use my blog for is to be able to go back and get up to speed on a set of rules if I haven't played them in a while.

Thanks,

Norman

Hi Norman,

I have just put a link posting up on the IHMN blog. Such a well written report deserves a wider audience.

Well done!

Nice report!

If you post a few teaser pictures to this thread, you'll probably get a lot more traffic...

The thanks should also go to Charles as well. Without him I'd still be self-publishing in a corner of the web.

We are glad you like them and appreciate your support.

Still waiting on our copies of the rules, but this definitely is the kind of AAR I crave, with explanations of what several have gotten wrong.

No matter how well written, rules WILL get misinterpreted by player expectations.

Not sure about Lord Curr as ultimate good, mind you. Something about that name...  :D

Hard not to get ahead of myself; have already been scanning 'Create your own Company in IHMN', and chatted about grandiose campaigns with maps of the streets and alleyways of Victorian London. Be nice if I'd get a chance to warm to the rules, first.  lol

Thanks again!

Doug

Thanks Neotacha. Having 33 miniatures fully painted and ready to play so soon after picking them up at Salute is a first for me  :). After the figures were cleaned up I found painting them a pleasure.
