Yuri's last stand
« on: May 11, 2013, 04:13:02 AM »
Playtesting latest house rules tonight. Things did not go well for the Vityaz squad and their STALKER guides. (stranded scientists watched them meet an ugly demise as mutant rat chow and rad zombie snacks)

I'll get more pix tomorrow.

It's like that part in the movie where you shout at the screen "No! Don't go in the Abandoned Research Facility, What are you, NUTS?"

Thanks. I only take the LAM figs off the shelf for special games.

It was rough watching my friend's rescue plans unravel one casualty at a time. Minor tactical errors were compounded by surly dice. We'll re-play the scenario with new/more figs.

We're re-fighting this battle tonight, with larger forces all around this time. We'll see if Yuri and his pals live to proceed to the next mission.

I'm calling the re-fight "Those damn rats!" (or "Those crappy dice!")

The miniature wargaming gods are not favoring my friend. We'll meet on another field of battle soon.

I an really impressed at the way the miniatures and terrain all tie together. There's a gloomy realism I really love.
top notch stuff!

Thanks all. Glad you like the pix. And yes, you do need some of those minis. Right now.

Good eye, Cypher226. IMO, the URSA is a perfect fit with LAM figs.

that Ursa suit looks great along side those of LAM.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Thanks. Highlight of the game was the slugfest between Mongo and the URSA.

Oh, and when the rats took down the infantry squad AND the damaged URSA. (Seriously. My buddy couldn't roll dice to save his life)
