Napoleonic metal update
I thought it was time for a Napoleonic update in case you thought we’ve gone WW2 crazy!
The Cossacks are coming on very well with quite a few packs done including Don Cossacks in summer and winter dress, Ataman Cossack Polk and Moscow Horse Opolchenie. Most are designed to be used in units as well as for skirmishing, whilst other codes are designed more for skirmish games as you can see. Many thanks to Dr. Stephen Summerfield for additional information and research.
For the last 25 years (actually since I started the Foundry Napoleonic range) I’ve been itching to make the armies of the smaller States of the war. Of course I needed to get the main armies under my belt first (and of course I do realize there’s still plenty to do on those too). The  4th, 5th and 6th Confederation of the Rhine or Rheinbund regiments are well underway, a couple of elements of which are shown here. These colourful units often made up of different Duchies or Principalities had a great mix of French, Prussian and Austrian influences in their uniforms, quite often all in one uniform. Peter Bunde of Brigade Plates (www.brigade-uniform-plates.de) has been a great help with additional information, but his plates are a ‘must have’ for all the information you’ll to field these regiments. More miner States/ Reinbund regiments as well as the odd larger one i.e. Bavaria will follow………
Other things on my ‘metal’ workbench include Austrian ‘German’ Grenadiers and Cuirassiers, Russian Hussars, Retreat from Moscow Allied cavalry and a few AWI bits. The Austrians, Russian and Confederation of the Rhine will start to appear next month.
You’ll find pictures of some of these up on our site with more to follow………..

All the best
Alan

What scale is the current Perry stuff again? It's much smaller than GW, right?

True 28mm, GW has no scale, with models ranging from 25mm to 40+mm, depending on age of model.

Your talking about 40 k right?
They are lot slimmer, but height wise people just mount them with their base on a Gw base to get them taller.

Well, I meant current GW, which is roughly 30-32mm, heroic scale (not counting the new high-elves who really are 40mm, grumble grumble grumble).

That first image in the comparison is interesting. I might be able to use the cavalry yet (was thinking about possibly using those cossacks).

They are very nice.  It's nice to see the Perries filling out the plastic ranges with the really obscure stuff now.
