The Ratte would be a battlefield in it's own right!  :D

Ratte dimension in 1/56 would be length 62.5 cm, width 25 cm and height 19.6 cm. It's a whopper to be sure but not astronomically far out there. Consider 4X the up-and-coming-soon Spartan 28mm scale gunship at 57x34x13cm.

Don't see either of those as gaming vehicles as such, more as terrain features and/or collector's item type display minis.

I would certainly pick up the Maus however the Ratte would be outside my budget unfortunately.....you have of course now opened the door to Wierd World War 2..........the sky (sometimes quite literally) is the limit  :D

I'd happily buy a ratte, and I bet you'd get interest from sci-fi gamers, especially 40k gamers, dunno all this cowardly talk of it taking up too much table, lame excuses  lol

One Maus may have briefly fought against the Russians before it was captured. Definitely want one in 1/48 scale. It will look great next to my Gaso.line E-10 and E-100 models. Would love to see the E-25, E-50, E-75 tanks and possible variants in 1/48 as well. I am hoping for a 1/48 Katzchen. Company B first started talking about one in 2011, and I've been waiting to send them my money, but nothing yet.   :(    I would jump on a 1/48 BTR-40 (need 3 to 4).

With suitable replacement and add-on parts (available as a stretch goal obviously 8)) I'm sure it could be made into a reasonable Bolo for example.

Detailed interrior would of course make for another stretch goal...

Morning all,

Well there is some interest in the Ratte vehicle and it certainly would be a centre piece model such as the large resin vehicles produced by companies such as Games Worshop's Forgeworld for example.

I think we will first release the Maus to see what interest gamers and collectors have in this specialised line of 1/56 & 1/48 vehicles.

If people like them they will sell, if not then i guess it will part answer the question of 'paper panzers' a little better :)

kind regards

Paul

I have no idea if Keith Laumer knew about the Portugese meaning of the term. If he did, he may have thought it funny while being bolo in the Salvadorean sense of the word :P

Perhaps it's time to stop derailing this thread tho... o_o

You won't be waiting to much longer.  :)

Excellent news, I've been waiting to give you my money, kidney & possibly first born (though I'm on the 1/56 side of the scale argument) ever since you first mentioned the project!
