I just got 8 more Leading edge marines and won an auction for 6 more aliens. Plenty to get stated now.
I would like to re-base them but I 'm not sure that is a good Idea?
Oh and I painted up the Queen but need to get some good pics.
Appreciate that, could you add links to these?

Here's the link to my Aliens project. It isn't finished. It's just being ignored in favor of other projects. (Someday I need to learn to focus.)

@ Michka, thanks for the link!
This is the thread I knew I saw a long time ago and was really inspired by it but I could not find it again.
You can see my reply #64 in it as I was doing homework back then to get into this Aliens project as I love the movies.
It has taken me since then to finally find some good deals to initiate my project.
In the meantime I was working on my Tomb King army this last winter.

You have to love those corridors and walls and I have similar idea's moving into that direction.
I too love plastic stock and have a stock pile of .030 x 6" x 4 feet long styrene sheets as well as some .100  thick sheets to work with.
I only can hope that mine turn out half as good as yours. I have started with the flooring already just experimenting and yes it will take patience but the result is a STURDY game piece you will have for a long time.
Great stuff!

If you are interested i did a set of rules and stats for the Aliens universe.
Its based on the GW Legends/LotR rule set, which by general aggrement is one of, if not the best, skirmish rule set ever written... plays brilliantly, and scales very well...

If you have ever played legends of the old west, legends of the high seas, or any GW LotR games, you will pick it up very quickly...

Legends of Lv426 as a PDF if you fancy it?

Thanks Col. Aubrey Bagshot I believe I am going to use your rules along with some other rule sets I have for solitaire play.
I have gone over your work and it seems like this will be a great system. Great job sir. How did you come up with this?

I've always belived that the GW rule set for LotR is the best skirmish game rule set ever written, as it covers just about any eventuality you could ever wish for as a gamer... Even swimming is covered! How many rule sets can say that?

GW themselves have adapted it to cover Pirates, the Old West and even WW1, but perhaps missed out on adapting it for more general sci-fi or even modern day/zombie gaming due to in house politics.... And with the closure of Warhammer Historical, any new adaptations look unlikely...
Which i think is a great shame...

But it leaves the way clear for hobbyists to use the original rules as almost an "open source" rule set to use and adapt.

Im currently writing an adaptation for the Star Wars Universe from Clone wars through to End of Empire....

which is keeping me busy....

I put together two sets of rules using "GW LoTR adapted by Col. Aubrey Bagshot" and "Aliens, This time it's war" tweaking them a bit so they blend pretty good. I call It "Aliens the game".  ATTIW is a solitaire or team player format as the aliens activate and move by themselves.
While LoTR CAB offers a better combat and skirmish system.
So I started to play test this and set up a simple board using whatever was handy just to get a game going.
At first I started with a group of humans 5 marines and Ripley. Nothing happened as the aliens activate by 1d6 on a roll of 6 until the marine fire. Seemed to me this could go on for ever without a fight so I changed the way the aliens activate. Now every group of humans must roll every turn and their tracking devices play a roll so on a 4 or 5 the aliens activation is modified by +1 on the next turn and on the 5 you see where they will activate from. After the marines fire they activate on a 4-6 so things start happening fast then. This means more aliens will be activated so I compensated the amount that are randomly brought on by die roll reducing them by about half on the bigger numbers rolled. I also gave the marines 2 shots for their pulse rifles and hero status to Ripley and Hicks changing their stats a bit. it seemed that the Pulse rifles were not doing any damage with one shot and it made sense that they should fire at a more rapid pace anyways. You have to have hero's right?
I decided to start over with 2 groups of 6 each rolling for alien activation at the start of the turn. Both groups got about half way to the middle of the board when in turn 3 the aliens started activating. The groups were able to fall back a bit and let them have some. This continued for the next 2 or 3 turns with both groups maintaining cohesion and beating back all the aliens that were activating. Then Mom entered the picture. The queen is really hard to wound and she pretty much had things her way. I poured everything the USCM had into her resulting with 1 wound from a smart gun. After 3 turns with her on the table only Ripley and 1 marine were left and they were both in trouble. I really didn't have victory conditions except stay alive and kill as many aliens as possible to test these rules. In the end they killed 26 aliens and wounded the queen.
I can't decide on what to do about the queen at this point. She is one tough mother.
I took some pics but nothing really worth showing. It was fun and I got a lot out of it.
