Armies of Arcana is also a great game that would cover the Mass battle game ethic of Warhammer, and you only ever need one book :).

Loving the paint work on these figs, don't suppose you have a shot of the figs in thier bags (e.g. so I can pick up one from somewhere maybe), those scorps look great :).

Armies of Arcana rocks in my book too. I'm planning to use my 150 EM4 Nick Lund Orcs as one half of my LOTR horde. They were a real bargain, though not as good a bargain as bucketloads of bugs!
Warriors dreams, summer grasses, all that remains

Well my next project is a LoTR army as cheaply as possible. Unfortunately I love the imagery from the film's so it will mainly be gw models however I'm going to scrounge as much of it as possible so we'll see if i can beat my current record of £11.09.

There are some good bargains to be had at shows and conventions, as well as bring and buys - I've picked up individual LOTR plastics for 50p-£1 each or sprues for a few quid... still too expensive I guess?

Once this tournament is out of the way I'll try and go for trading with folk. Posting a sprue of models is relatively cheap and I have lots of things floating about that I'll never start so maybe I'll go for that. Much like that guy in the popular press that started off with a paperclip and eventually traded up to house.

Can't figure out how to shrink the pic down and post on here so here's a link my blog with a pic of the packet of bugs I used - http://offtclub.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/warhammer-on-budget-where-i-got-bugs.html
