Q-huts
« on: 09 June 2013, 03:56:07 AM »
I recently picked these up, tossed on some paint and thought to share.
Dust Tactics: Airfield Accessory Pack - Quonset Huts

They are nice and easy to paint and build + cheap :)
Hard plastic, 3 pieces [front top and back]with opening door.
Maybe a tad too WW2ish for some, but fits for me.
Enjoy.

I have the same set, liked them a lot the first time I noticed in my FLGS. I have pics of my huts in my VBCW topic here on LAF. Good for many time periods and genres and for that prize they are a real bargain.

Went straight to EBay and got a box for $22.00. Free postage. Bargain as I live in Oz.

Thanks for the heads up  ;)

Okay, I am dredging this up from the depths as I just received my box and I was really impressed.

You get enough pieces to make 6 huts with front and back walls.

I suspect this also allows you to make some larger ones should you need to.

I just want to give this product another thumbs up. Well worth the ~AU$20, that is certain!

Sounds a really useful set. Must get some.

We had, until they built a new cycle track recently, the concrete bases for a load of these just over the way from us. Were used for the crews for the barrage balloons and AA guns protecting the Bristol aircraft factory.

Whilst Almaric comments about them being WW2-ish, the original Nissen design goes back to WW1.

I know they date from that far back, but here in the Southern USA they really didn't become common until WW2.
In fact, there are plenty still in use in small towns hereabouts.
Of course that won't stop me from using them for any and all sorts of uses. ;)

I've had these on my Amazon Wish List for a while now, but seeing what you have done with yours made me pull the trigger. They will make a nice addition to my slowly growing Pulp terrain collection.
Jane! Stop this crazy thing!
