Prussian Leibgrenadierbattalion (IR 8) using 28mm Calpe
« on: June 09, 2013, 12:30:18 PM »
Just posted some pictures of the Leibgrenadierbattalion for my Möckern game on my blog:

http://dhcwargamesblog.wordpress.com/2013/06/09/prussian-leib-grenadiere-konig-friedrich-wilhelm-iii-1-brandenburgisches-nr-8/

They are the last Prussian infantry unit i needed to paint and at 34 minis (plus skirmishers) easily the largest of them all. All minis are Calpe 28mm.

Enjoy,

Burkhard
And as usual a little pre-view:

Very nicely done! It's a pleasure to see someone else who still raises the big battalions, too. That's a well-sized unit for the wargaming table.

Nicely painted.  That would constitute and army for me.

THX.

For me this simply was the largest unit so far. I always do units at a 1:20 ratio based on their historical strengths. So some units might "only" be 16 minis strong, while others might technically be as strong as 60+ (although the rules suggest those to be separated into two sub-battalions.
