Looks great...I knocked up two of my Playmobil ships for a pirate game I was going to do...then decided not to.  Great platforms for them though - cheap, extremely robust.

Been away working most of this week, so not much progress. Next stage is building up the rear castle a bit higher.

This was bit tricky to get the angles sorted, but by the time I have finished detailing, most of the dodgy bits should be hidden.

I am kinda making this up as I go. I have a sort of idea how I want the finished thing to look, but it is evolving as I go.

I want to put some decorative "scroll" design on the rear, but at the moment I have not idea how to make one or if I should buy something and stick it on...

Started for on the forcastle last night. I have made an extended deck to allow a raised section to be built up.

It has a slight curve so gluing the sides on was not that easy...

Lots of bike racing on tv this weekend, so won't get much more done until next week.

Made a start on the crows nests whilst I wait for some mail order stuff I need.

Sprue for the railings.

In place, they look pretty good.

Added stairs to the rear section and some sprue to the sides to give it some strength and bulk.

I also made a silly putty mould of an old GW door to be used in a number of places around the ship.

I used soem garden wire to complete the crows nests. I think they turned out okay.

Not quite sure how to do the sails, should I go with one large sail on each mast or go with two sails, a smaller one on top and a larger one below?

Been a while since my last update. The deck is nearly finished, some doors have been added here and there along with balsa door frames.

I decided to add a grate to the main deck as it looked too boring.

Made a few green stuff casts of some nice detailing for decorating the whole model. First up is the forcastle.

The middle of the three lower squares allows a cannon to protrude.

I still need to add some more balsa to break up the large white areas.

Wow,  :o I like the little details you are placing around the ship. Your plasticard constructions are working very well at improving the look and level of that playmobile ship.

I'm having a bit of fun with this conversion, trying lots of detail bits.

Here is the figurehead, an old bit from some GW model that seemed to fit in nicely.

I used a bit of a coat hanger as the curved support for the figurehead. I actually broke the hanger by accident and while I was holding the two bits, it suddenly dawned that the curved end would work on the bow. Now then, what else I break around the house?

Very cool!!  :)

The details are amazing. What is the figurehead mini supposed to be?

The figurehead is a bit off this old GW model:

Which was some sort of Empire War Altar.

This is the walkway for the rear of the ship. Started by making a mock up out of card and then cut plastic card to the right shape. This was more tricky than I imagined and this actually took quite a long time to get right.

Then I cut grooves into the plastic to resemble planks...sort of.

When fitted to the hull, extra bracing was applied underneath.

The rear windows have also been covered. This was tricky to cut the right shape as well and took ages...
