I know Incursion is a separate game but please keep the scale similar to SOTR. Paddy and his commandoes are absolutely huge and seem really out of scale compared to the West wind stuff for SOTR. Just something to consider. ;)

Sorry, I'm going to have to come down on the other side of that, the current incursion range scales really well with my Dust figures, so I'd like the new figures to be the same scale they are now.

Just shows how off the scale was for the two games! :)

As someone who is watching this with great interest and anticipating the kickstarter now that I have spotted this - I would say to try and keep it to 28mm, not the DUST scale which isn't the same at all.

It means people have more variation in what they can adapt the game to include.

Message from Jim:
Here's some more fun Blitzhund art. We should be able to start revealing box covers for Incursion and SNAFU as well as final poster, soon. Also, there is some character art, models being sculpted by Jason Weibe and Pat Keith, and a movie trailer on the way. Stay tuned. It's going to start getting really nuts around here.

Jim mentioned that they'll be going for Zombicide style plastic for the miniatures in the boxed game, has anyone got any experience working/painting these?

I love the original version of both Incursion and Snafu.   Fun game, I am very much looking forward to this kickstarter!

Check out some of the examples of painted Zombicide figures in various threads in the Post-Apoc section of this forum. The plastic figures appear to paint up rather well.

I've painted and re-based most of a zombicide box and it's not a bad material to work with, but it's not great either.  It's more solid than you would think, with less flex than say WOTC star wars figures, I didn't find a whole lot of flash and what was there was easy to remove.  The big downside is that the material doesn't hold as much detail as metal, traditional plastic or restic.

I would imagine it's the classic trade off of quality and cost.  The current metal figures are wonderful, but so expensive, that it costs $140 for the minimum number of metal figures on top of the cost of the game.  Hopefully with the lower cost of the plastic Grindhouse can get the whole package under $100 and still have decent quality on the figures.

Dude, Incursion truly rocks. My sole complaint about the game was the "bling" factor...the cardboard standies from the first printing were great as far as gameplay goes, it made detecting facings more obvious, but the toy factor was missing. That's what made Space Hulk a better game than it. But now....yeah, it's going to be the best corridor shooter ever.

Regarding the plastics - if you brush on thin varnish and then spray with acrylic dullcote (or Krylon) before you paint them up, the models become almost as good as working with metal. Very stiff, adhesion is great, and they come out pretty good. The one advantage I think that these plastics have is that you can "make them your own" by changing the poses on the extremities with nothing more than some hot then cold running water.

The Reaper stuff is brilliant in that regard as well.
